It's common for the DAS (Immobilizer unit) to fail in Mercedes SL cars, R129 chassis manufactured from 1996-2002. When this happens, the vehicle is immobilized and usually, ' START ERROR' is displayed in place of the odometer in the instrument cluster.  To address this issue, we developed a solution that eliminates the DAS functionality, enabling the vehicle to start with any cut key, which has proven to be the best solution for this issue.
